GENERIC HCG (HUMAN CHORONIC GONADOTROPIN)
HCG is an oligosaccharide glycoprotein composed of 244 amino acids. It has an alpha subunit that is 92 amino acids long and identical to that of luteininzing hormone (LH), follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH). It has a beta subunit that is unique to hCG.
Bodybuilders and athletes use hCG either on cycle, in an effort to maintain testicular integrity during steroid administration, or after a cycle to help restore hormonal homeostasis more quickly. Both types of uses are effective when properly applied.
Human Chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) is a hormone that supports the normal development of an egg in a woman’s ovary, and stimulates the release of the egg during ovulation.
The Benefits of HCG
• Maintains Testicular Function
• Increases Testosterone Production • Maintenance of sperm production and normal testicle size
DOSAGE & INSTRUCTIONS
As a part of PCT, HCG should only be used once levels of injected steroid fall below what would be commensurate with 100 mg/week use, very low dose HCG such as 100-125 IU every other day is acceptable as a part of PCT. You may have to wait for a week or so after your last injection before administration begins.
A dosage of 500 IU EOD (or 3x/week, which is nearly equivalent), or 250 IU daily is around a reasonable absolute maximum.
For normal use it is recommended to take either 100 IU daily, 200 IU Every Other Day, or 250 IU three times per week. These can have very effective results.

Estrogenic Side Effects
HCG will increase testicular aromatase activity, which can result in Estrogenic side effects as a result of increased Estrogen generated by aromatization (conversion) of androgens into Estrogen. It is recommended that individuals utilize an aromatase inhibitor (AI) during HCG use. The most suitable AI for this purpose is Aromasin (Exemestane). Other AIs can be used, but the common PCT protocol of HCG, Nolvadex, and an aromatase inhibitor will present problems if the other two commonly known AIs are used (Letrozole and Arimidex). This has been covered extensively in the HCG doses portion of this profile. If an AI is not utilized to lower circulating levels of aromatase, and subsequently Estrogen, then not only will Estrogenic side effects result, but an impairment of endogenous HPTA functionwill result. This will be counterproductive to the original goal of restoration of hormonal function. Estrogenic side effects include the following: water retention and bloating, blood pressure elevations (as a result of the water retention), increased possible fat retention/gain, and gynecomastia.
Androgenic Side Effects
Androgenic side effects are indeed a part of HCG side effects due to the fact that HCG will increase circulating blood plasma levels of androgens, notably Testosterone, and subsequently Dihydrotestosterone. This is a naturally expected and desired effect of HCG use. Androgenic side effects include: increased sebum secretion (oily skin), increased bouts of acne, hair growth, benign prostatic hypertrophy, and the increased risk of triggering Male Pattern Baldness in individuals that possess the genetic trait.
